Who's the host
The Medical Device Innovation Center (MDIC), with the accumulated soft power base of the “Presidents' Forum of Southeast Asia and Taiwan Universities founded by NCKU” (SATU PRESIDENTS' FORUM), establishes the platform - Global Academic Industry Alliance(GAIA) - to connect the top international medical research centers and institutes. Through the academic cooperation and exchanges, Taiwan’s medical device industry wants to build up a closer connection with the world.
About the Program
What we'd like to do
Considering the necessity of extending the international industry-academic collaboration, MDIC and other GAIA members invite key-opinion leaders, renowned professors, medical doctors, researchers and professionals from other countries, especially those from Southern and Southeast Asian to attend this five-day international conference.
In 2021, to respond to the challenges of global pandemic, the conference will be held as a Hybrid event offering both virtual and on-site versions. In this conference, the key opinion leaders will be sharing their experiences and insights on the ongoing innovations and healthcare landscape from technology, networking and economy side, especially under pandemic-driven changes. Hands-on activities and tours of National Cheng Kung University Hospital (NCKUH), National Cheng Kung University (NCKU), and Southern Taiwan Medical Device Industry Cluster (STMDIC) will also be arranged, partly virtually and partly on-site.
The GAIA will be a powerful platform for international universities and world-leading enterprises to build cross-culture cooperation, and also an important channel to extend their international business marketplace.
Main Purposes
What we'd like to build up
The main purposes of this conference are to (1) establish a value-chain platform for international cooperation, (2) assist institutions in building their international network, (3) understand current trends of healthcare technology, and (4) satisfy future healthcare needs in the coming aging society and post-pandemic era
We expect the event would help the participators grasp the future healthcare trend precisely, know how to build up a healthcare network with the state-of-the-art technology, and be capable of effectively promoting the healthcare for future society with lower healthcare cost.
Past Achievement
What we've done
In 2015 to 2019, there were more than 300 people from 30 countries participated in "International Conference on Future Healthcare and Economic Development in Southeast Asia". This international conference will solid the GAIA model and connect to academic organizations. We are looking forward to a win-win outcome and reaching the goal of making substantial economic benefits mutually with all our members and participants.
